Are reservations required?

Reservations are not required but we strongly recommend you make one to avoid disappointment upon arrival.

 

Where do the trips leave from and how do I get there?

Sea Trips Reykjavík is located 5 minutes from downtown Reykjavík at the Ægisgarður, Old Harbour. If you have your own vehicle, we offer free all day parking. Another option is to make reservations on our pickup service, we pick up from several locations in downtown Reykjavík.

Travelers must be checked-in no later than 45 minutes prior to sailing. Boarding closes 15 minutes before departure. Late arrivals will be cancelled with no refunds.

 

How should I dress? What should I bring?

We recommend all guests dress warmly in layers and good footwear it is always colder on the water. We provide you with warm blankets. Don´t forget your camera and a sense of adventure!

 

What if there is no sightings?

If there are no sightings on the tour we do not refund the tour price but offer a complimentary voucher for a tour on the next avialable day’s/evenings in the same price valid for two years.

 

What are the cancellation policies?

You may cancel 48 hours prior to departure without penalty if your travel plans change. For confirmed trips, cancellations must reach 48 hours prior to departure. After 48 hours incurs a 50% charge of booking fee.

 

How close do we get to the whales?

We are allowed to get within 100 meters (100 yards) of the whales. At this distance you get an excellent view of the whales.

 

What are the chances of seeing whales?

The chance of seeing Orcas varies with the seasons. We work with a network of whale watching operators and share sighting information this gives us a sighting success rate of about 90%. We start at the Vesturbugt, and traveling through the Reykjavík Coast passengers see a variety of wildlife including porpoises, dolphins and other species.

 

Do you see more whales on the morning or the afternoon trip?

Whales are spotted equally in the mornings and afternoons.
