Daily diary – April 18 2025

It was the start to a beautiful sunny weekend – the conditions were perfect… very little wind, no waves and beautiful blue skies! This morning we set sail on two of our boats and the RIB! There was a feeding humpback whale that we spent most of our time with! It was an individual we’ve seen before in the last 3 years! It was having so much fun! Rolling and lunge feeding! We even saw a few minke whales feeding nearby, a few more humpbacks, and a pod of harbour porpoises that were having fun swimming around the boat!

We went out on the same boats again in the afternoon, and the wind had dropped even more. This time the whales were more spread out. We came across 3 different humpback whales during our tour, and on multiple occasions, a few minke whales feeding very closely to these humpbacks! There was so many puffins and other birds in the area that we got to admire as well!
