Daily diary – April 7 2025

The waves and wind weren’t too bad today and the temperature was quite warm as well! This morning we headed out and saw so many puffins past Grotta – the lighthouse! We saw quite a few harbour porpoises as well. We went further out into the bay and we came across a humpback whale! Not only was that a surprise, but its also an individual we have seen in 2023 and 2024! Amazing to see that they’ve returned for this summer as well.

The weather in the afternoon was also pleasant. Again we headed out and saw quite a few pods of harbour porpoises. As we searched the bay we saw some birds feeding. We were watching quite a while and nothing else was to be seen! And then bam! There was a minke whale, and then another, and another, and another! There were 4 minke whales! After watching them feed for a while we headed back home and came across a pod of white-beaked dolphins as well!
