Daily diary – August 1st 2025

A rainy day!
A rainy day, but that didn’t stop the whales from showing up. In fact, we were lucky enough to see white-beaked dolphins, minke whales and humpback whales throughout the day.
During our tour, we were treated to numerous shows, particularly from the humpback whales. There were countless numbers of them there. They slapped their tails on the surface of the water numerous times, which is called tail slapping. They shared their meal with us, and we were able to observe their bubble net feeding, which consists of circles of bubbles that they create at the bottom of the water, trapping fish and making them much easier to eat. To accompany this incredible day, we were also able to see some of them jumping near the boats.
Unfortunately, the ocean conditions did not allow us to go out for our 5 p.m. tour.
