Daily Diary – August 21 2024
Today was a day of contrast on Faxafloi Bay. The weather presented some challenges, with strong winds and a noticeable drop in temperature, signaling that the end of summer might be close.
Despite this conditions, the day turned out to be incredibly rewarding in terms of whale sightings!
Throughout our today’s tours, we were fortunate to encounter multiple humpback whales, two of them haven been seen together over the past few weeks, it is familiar now their presence.
We also spotted a minke whale, but the true highlight of the day was the surprise appearance of a fin whale! Known as the second-largest whale specie in the world, fin whales sightings in our area are quite rare, making today’s encounter truly special. Watching this whale glide effortlessly through the water was an unforgettable experience for everyone on board.
