Daily diary – December 24 2024

Celebrating Christmas, we headed out into the bay, with snow falling all around! Just before we got to the islands, we could see a blow! It was one of the pair of humpback whales swimming all alone! It was swimming really fast and changing direction, but soon enough it settled into a rhythm and would surface near us. Then we headed more to the islands and saw another humpback whale. The same one that has been here since November, swimming by itself. Again, it surfaced right next to us, and we could see lots of seals in the water bottling too! To finish off the tour, we went over to another humpback, the other individual from the pair, however, this one was sleeping! We watched it as it just lay near the surface of the water, not doing much, other than breathing! We then saw a white-tailed eagle fly over us! What a brilliant way to start the Christmas celebrations!!
