Daily diary – January 12 2025

It was a very gloomy day with a light drizzle, but the calm seas were very inviting. We headed out around the bay and soon enough, found the humpback whale that we´ve been seeing for the last few weeks. It was still being as active as it has been the last few days, surfacing every other minute and giving us quite the show! Again it surfaced right under the bow, so we turned our engine off to enjoy the beautiful moment. A few seals were popping up around the boat and one came real close to the side. We headed off to find some more life in the bay and soon came across the shy humpback whale! We were able to sail side by side and watched it surface ever so slowly! Unfortunately it does look like this individual has been injured previously by entanglement or ship-strike, but its good to see it thriving here in the bay.
