The morning and afternoon were quite challenging in terms of weather conditions – no sunshine, intense swelling on the ocean and rain.
Fortunately, the bay was as lively as it had been during the beautiful days. We managed to see over nine different humpback whales – including one mother with a calf – and many minke whales surfacing every now and then.
The afternoon eventually, treated us to sunshine! We entered the feeding area of whales and birds. Hundreds of hungry northern fulmars and puffins, dozens of active white-beaked dolphins, minke whales and humpbacks. Many breaches, tail slaps, deep dives, lots of spy-hopping and splashes left each of us in awe!
