Daily diary – July 17 2025

The sea was completely flat today with a bit of a drizzle and fog every here and there.
In the morning, all of the humpbacks seemed to be gone for vacation, instead we saw a friendly pod of white-beaked dolphins! Later, we encountered a spot with many big schools of fish by the surface which attracted around 10 minke whales – they were lunge feeding and surfacing very, very often, which was a delightful show to watch!
During the afternoon tour, we decided to go further into the bay to look for humpbacks – it paid off because we found our giant humpback female with her curious calf. The baby has already grown up, they must be eating well! Both of them felt playful, we saw couple of tail slaps, flukes followed by deeper dives and even one breach!
