Daily diary – July 7 2025

The beginning of the day was just perfect – it had been a long time since we had such calm seas. Thanks to these conditions we managed to see 4 different Minke Whales, one decided to swim close enough for us to see it´s white snout! We also varied our brief encounters with Minke by admiring two very calm Humpback Whales.

Amazing how changeable the Atlantic can be! In the afternoon we experienced a much more rough sea, lots of splashes and waves, which was quite challenging to track down the whales, but we did it! Again two, this time different Humpbacks. We already know they seem to be much more playful when the sea is rough – jumping, tail slapping, fin waving is what we experienced. What a show!

We finished the tour a bit earlier and the rest of the tours for the day got cancelled due to the weather conditions.
