Daily diary – March 13 2025

We started the day with beautiful sunny, blue skies, and very little wind! There was a bit of swell today due to the winds last night, but we ventured out into the bay! It took some searching, but we finally found some bird activity, and along with all of the birds feeding, there were pods and pods of white-beaked dolphins! Probably 200 individuals! They were swimming, feeding, jumping and breaching! Then amongst the dolphins, we saw a blow! It was a humpback whale! It was swimming and playing with the dolphins and even did a peduncle throw as they swam next to each other.
In the afternoon the swell was little bit less than it was in the morning but still to much from some. We found a couple of groups of white beaked dolphins group as well as in the morning and then a humpback whale. This humpback did not show its fluke and looked rather smaller then an average humpback whale. The sun was with us the whole day but it was quite chilly.
