Daily diary – March 17 2025

With the luck of the Irish today, we headed out into Faxafloi Bay with the southerly winds behind us. There was a little bit of waves today as expected but everyone was prepared to head out. We came across 3-4 pods of white-beaked dolphins. They were jumping through the waves, enjoying the surf! Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them so we offered everyone complimentary tickets to come back and try their luck.

The waves had calmed a little bit for the afternoon tour, we headed out and searched the bay. We came across our first pod of white-beaked dolphins. There was 4 of them and we watched them for a little bit, however, there weren’t too interested in the boat so we carried on. We then came spotted another pod of 6 dolphins, but just as we approached them, 4 harbour porpoises popped up really close to the boat. There must have been lots of fish nearby! We then watched the pod of dolphins for the rest of the tour as they were feeding!
