Daily diary – May 14 2025

An incredible day today with great sea conditions: little wind and regular waves.
Along the day, there were lots of birds in the ocean, a sign of lots of fish.

This morning we quickly spotted a group of around twenty white-beaked dolphins; they seemed very busy chasing fish but we all saw them jump out of the water.
As we continued on we came face to face with two humpback whales! They were swimming in sync (see video below). And during their dive, a few minke whales surfaced here and there.

In the afternoon we saw the same two humpback whales again, still together in sync, as well as some harbour porpoises along the way.

A great day and the weekend looks incredible with summer temperatures here in Reykjavik!
