Daily diary – May 15 2025

There was a bit of wind throughout the day, but it didn’t bring any waves from inland, so the conditions were very good!
This morning, after a long crossing, we spotted blows from a humpback whale in the distance. We reproached each other and the whale started breaching out continuously about ten times as it got closer to the boat. It ended up jumping 20 metres from the boat – it was incredible! Then it did pectoral flaps and rolled on itself; a spectacle that will be remembered forever (see video below).
This afternoon, we headed to the same place as in the morning. To our great surprise, the morning whale had disappeared, but on the other hand, we observed white-beaked dolphins as well as minke whales very close to the boat! Against all odds, the same humpback whale from the morning surfaced very close to our boat! It was truly amazing, the next few days are looking wonderful!
