Daily diary – May 21 2025

In the morning the sun was shining and not a single cloud was visible and hardly no wind at all so we went into the sea with our hearts full of hope. Then shortly after we noticed a very low clouds or fog that looked like we would go into after 10 minutes but it was more like 30 seconds later we were in totally different landscape. Right before that we had stumbled upon a beautiful group of white beaked dolphins. After some search we found a very nice Humpback whale it came once so close to the boat that i was little bit afraid it would hurts itself. But then it moved and all good.

The afternoon tour was quite similar but the fog was much closer to the harbour then in the morning tour. After sailing through the fog for 30 minutes, we came across a pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. They were feeding and you could see the fish jumping out of the water as they tried to escape their fate. We carried on through the fog towards Hvalfjord, where we found 2 humpback whales. One swam away, but the other one stayed really close and swam right up to the bow as it fed. There were even a few harbour porpoises swimming in front of us too.
