Whale Watching in Reykjavik. Whale tail breaching the water.

Just as the sun was rising, we head out into mostly calm conditions and some blue skies. We could see lots of birds feeding in the area, so this was a good sign! We soon enough saw some blows in the distance so we inspected them and found 3 humpback whales! One of them was feeling particularly active and was peduncle throwing multiple times!!! They swam right up to the boat and around us! There were other blows in the distance but we didn´t see anything else! Right at the last minute, we saw that a fourth humpback whale had joined! How amazing! Not something you see every trip, 4 humpback whales swimming together!

The clouds had covered over a little bit, but we were still all excited to head out into the bay! We headed straight to where we were last tour, and soon enough found the 4 humpback whales swimming together again! They were swimming more calmly this afternoon but were still coming up close to the boat! Right as we were about to leave, one of them waved us goodbye! The wind came in on the way back so it was more choppy heading home, but everyone was so happy about the tour!
