Daily diary – October 13 2024

With a very cold start to the day, we headed out to the sea and a humpback whale! They showed us a peduncle throw as soon as we arrived with it and then would dive for short periods of time. We got to see their fluke quite a few times as they swam next to the boat. When we were done we headed back against the chilly wind and enjoyed the warmth inside!

The afternoon tour was beautiful! We had the sun warming our faces as we travelled out. A blow from a minke whale caught our attention so we went to see it but it disappeared after one dive. Not long after, we saw the blow from the humpback whale that we saw this morning. It was taking long dives and travelling far in between each one. We soon caught up to it and it swam right next to Amelia Rose and Harpa! There were more minke whales around the boat that we got to enjoy before we headed home.
