Daily Diary – September 25 2024

It was with blue skies, radiant sunshine but a strong northerly wind that we set off this morning. This wind created several waves which made the tour a little more extreme than expected. It was after a long while that we spotted several blows in the distance (signs of the presence of a cetacean). We approached and saw the dorsal fin and back of a Humpback Whale, this one is well known and has been coming to the bay every year for the last 5 years. It’s always a pleasure to see the whales come back to see us, it proves that they feel at home here.
As this one is very curious, it’s even more of a pleasure to see her. We sailed with her for a while before heading back to port.

As for the afternoon tour, we were lucky enough to observe several different whales, two of them quite close up so we were able to see their fluckes several times, then a third from further away.
As for the weather, it was calmer this afternoon, with the wind and waves easing off, so we were able to take full advantage of the outer decks of the Amelia Rose.
