Comment:

Tonight we learned once again that patience and perseverance are essential when hunting for the Northern Lights. For about an hour and a half we waited in vain for the lights to appear with no success. Yet the conditions were excellent: a sky much clearer of clouds than the day before, good visibility of the stars and a Kp of 4. So what was missing to make them appear? The key was patience. Just before starting the engine to return to the port, a faint light began to appear west of Mount Esja. And that’s when it all started: a show of different shapes of lights moving across the sky, so bright that it brought even tears to our eyes.
