Forecast from Vedur.is : Tonight we are expecting partially clear skies and high aurora activity, the Northern Lights tour is on!
Comment: We set off on slightly choppy seas and under cloudy skies. The conditions didn’t look ideal at first, but – as we well know – on Northern Lights tours, patience is the key to success. Once we reached a quiet spot between the islands, the sky cleared and a delicate aurora appeared before our eyes – a good sign – the start of a great show.
What happened over the next 30 minutes makes this night one of the top five of the season! The aurora spread out over the city, then moved directly overhead. Beautiful halos dancing in shades of green and purple, clearly visible to the naked eye. Such a strong, vivid, boldly dancing aurora left us speechless. It really was something special.
