Northern lights diary – November 26th 2025

Sunrise: 10:31 UTC

Sunset: 13:57 UTC

The forecast had predicted clouds but we got the exact opposite – totally clear skies from start to finish.

When we first headed out the aurora was showing up faintly, just a subtle glow that you had to look for. But then out of no where it absolutely exploded over Mount Esja in the most incredible display of greens and reds. The whole sky just lit up. Right across our heads! It was genuinely one of those sights that leaves you speechless, just absolutely spectacular.

Kp : 5/9

Moon status: 35% illuminated

Forecast: Mixed skies with a high KP forecast, tonight’s tour is on!
