Whale Watching Daily Diary – April 24th 2026
Today, although it wasn’t very cold and there wasn’t much wind, the day started with quite a few high clouds. We had to travel far to find any whale activity, sailing more than 15 miles off the coast. However, it was worth it because we saw many minke whales. Some of them came really close to the boat. There were probably about a dozen of them spread out throughout the area where the fish was. Finally, we also saw a humpback whale nearby, known primarily for its magnificent size and its several-meter-long blow! The show continued in the afternoon. The sky began to clear, giving us glorious early-summer sunshine. Once again, we travelled several miles before spotting any whales. There was little activity from the minke whales in the afternoon, but the humpback whale didn’t let us get bored!
