Whale Watching Daily Diary – December 18th 2025
Thankfully, the wind dropped a lot since yesterday and we had a much calmer day out on the water. We set off between the islands first as that is where we have been seeing the whales lately.
The first animals we spotted were the smallest member of the whale family up here – the harbour porpoises. They can be very elusive, so it is always a joy to see them, especially when they are in a big pod!
Next we saw a cute little seal swimming about looking back up at us with curiousity.
But we know most people want to see really big whales, and we were happy to oblige by finding two humpback whales! They were on great form, swimming right up close to us and showing us their great tail fins. It was a joy to watch and we were thrilled to show them (and the porpoises and seal) to our lovely customers!
