Whale Watching Daily Diary – December 8th 2025

It was overcast but surprisingly warm today as we headed out into Faxafloi to see what marine mammals were out there. It took a while but first we came across a pod of white-beaked dolphins. They came right up to us out of nowhere and some zigzagged underneath the yacht and rode at the bow whilst others tayed further off. There was a lot of them we estimated between 30 and 40 individuals.

After that we went back into the islands to look for humpback whales. We looked and looked, but nothing, then, woosh! A big blow right in tight next to Videy. There were the two humpback whales we have been seeing regularly these last few weeks. They were super chill but treated us to some wonderful tail dives and came really close to the yacht so we were thrilled.
