Whale Watching Daily Diary – February 12th 2026

We were so lucky with the weather today! Although the temperature dropped to -7 degrees below zero, thanks to the sun shining on our faces most of the time and the completely calm sea, we can say that we had a blast today!

In the morning and afternoon, we spent most of our time in the company of our wonderful humpbacks – Banana and it’s friend. Thanks to the calm ocean, we could easily see their white fins under the water, and their beautiful tails close to the boat were the icing on the cake.
It was also good to see a sign of the approaching spring – northern gannets! These birds usually arrive in Iceland around March, so does that mean that the warm weather will come sooner this year?

Either way, it was definitely a successful day, and our passengers left Amelia Rose with smiles on their faces!
