Whale Watching Daily Diary – February 2nd 2026
Morning tour
It was such a beautiful day on the water this morning, calm and still a bit pink at sunrise. Almost as soon as we left the harbour we saw two humpback whale blows over by the island called Videy. The were evidently feeding doing deep dive after deep dive with their tails up and out of the water. What a glorious thing to see! We also saw a common seal looking up at us, then we carried on around the islands looknig for other marine mammals, despite seeing a lot of birds we didn´t find any more whales.
Afternoon Tour
The humpback whales were in the same area as this morning and they were feeding in a huge circle. So we just sat and watched them as they circled the boat, a few times diving right underneath us! Thats what we like – them approaching us rather than us following them. We also saw lots of common seals and a grey seal in the same area.
We had two huge flocks of birds diving with guillemots, black backed gulls and northern gannets in amongst them.
