Whale Watching Daily Diary – January 13th 2026

Another windy day on the water here in Reykjavik! But thankfully, it was much better than yesterday, and we had bright skies and golden light, which was just so beautiful.

The first whale we found was a humpback whale between Akurey and Engey, and it showed us its tail many times and hung out right next to the boat! After a while, we wanted to give it some space, so we headed over towards Esjan where we were fortunate enough to find another humpback whale!

As it was a bit wavy today it made it that much harder to spot whales so we were thrilled that we found these two!
