Whale Watching Daily Diary – January 3rd 2025
What an incredible day!
With the sea as flat as a mirror, we embarked once again on the adventure of finding animals in these waters.
Seals and seabirds were the first to surprise us. Numerous seals poked their curious heads out when they saw us passing by.
But another much larger species surprised us repeatedly. Two humpback whales in different areas of the bay. The first one was behaving in an unusual and rare way: napping! Very relaxed, this whale floated on the surface, almost motionless, breathing very slowly. It was amazing to see!
The other humpback whale was diving for very long periods of time, taking only three breaths at the surface. An incredible freediver!
Nature surprises us, and every day we learn more and more!
