Whale Watching Daily Diary – November 21st 2025
The wind was calm and the skies were clear as we set off this morning as the sun was coming up.
We set off and sailed for some time before we saw some small fins flashing through the water around us. Harbour porpoises! They are only about 160cm long and are often mistaken for dolphins, and they can be very shy so its always thrilling to see them.
Then we carried on sailing, scanning the oceans around us until we saw the distant blow of a humpback whale. We slowly approached it, until it was close enough for us to see. It was logging, resting, and taking long dives, but we are always happy to see it being so relaxed around us.
In the afternoon we had a short downpour of rain come out of nowhere, but it cleared up fast. We were delighted to see some seals, they are so cute and like to watch us as much as we watch them! Then we found the humpback again, but it was way more active than the morning, and put on a really great show for everyone.
