Whale Watching Daily Diary – November 22nd 2025
We set sail today before sunrise, under favourable weather conditions – calm seas, good visibility and not too strong winds for this time of year.
Today’s show was stolen by an adult female humpback whale, which was waiting for us not far from Viðey. In the morning, she was very calm, almost asleep. We always approached at a safe distance of about 100 metres, but a few times the whale drifted very close to our boat – much to the delight of the crew and guests. In the meantime, we saw a very playful harbour seal!
In the afternoon, we met the same female, this time more active – she showed us her beautiful tail several times, and at one point she decided to try people watching! As if out of nowhere, she surfaced to the left of our boat, less than 10 metres away! She spent a few minutes with us, watching the onlookers closely from above her head… a wonderful experience.
