Whale Watching Daily Diary – November 7th 2025
Today was stunning!
With glass calm water as the sun rose the mountains were touched with oranges and pinks it was heavenly. There was almost no wind and almost completely clear skies. Even without whales it would have been a great day.
As it was first we saw a couple of porpoises but we were then distracted from them by a large minke whale feeding ll around the boat. We watched it for a while then headed off to see what else we could find.
We saw a big group of birds so went to investigate and under them we found a huge pod of porpoises – maybe 20 or more! Then a podcast of white beaked dolphins appeared and were zooming and jumping all around us.
We were very happy with the tour as it was but then, just before we entered the harbour was a pair of humpback whales!! They were super relaxed and we saw some great tail dives before we headed home for lunch.
The afternoon tour had the same excellent weather but at first there were no whales to be seen, the humpbacks had gone. So we headed out to where we saw the dolphins earlier…only to be called back to where we had just been because we saw the humpback blows after all!
We watched the humpbacks for some time and had a great view seeing their great white pectoral fins through the water, then carried on exploring. Next we found the minke whale again, in a different place but we knew it was the same one from its dorsal fin. Finally we saw some harbour porpoises before heading home. Another excellent tour!
