Whale Watching Daily Diary – November 8th 2025

Perfect weather conditions and very good visibility in Faxafloi Bay today!

We sailed a little further than usual today, almost to the fjord. On our way north, we encountered the smallest whales – harbour porpoises!
Then we were greeted, as usual, by active and curious white-beaked dolphins. It was a very good warm-up, because about 15 minutes after seeing the dolphins, we noticed a huge blow about 800 metres away. It was an adult humpback, but it was behaving in a rather unusual way – it would surface for only a few moments, then show us its tail, dive deep and change its position drastically. For a moment, we wondered if there were two or only one humpback around us! It was a very active morning.

In the afternoon, the porpoises, dolphins and humpback whale waiting for us very close to the harbour were joined by three minke whales actively hunting in one spot. A great and very diverse day!
