Whale Watching Daily Diary – October 13th 2025
A little bit of rolling waves as we headed out but not long after we left the northern marker buoy we found the friendliest and most playful porpoises we´ve had in months! They frolicked around us for a while before we saw the fin of a minke whale not too far away so went to see that. As we were waiting for the minke to resurface we saw the blows of not one but 2 humpback whales so we went to them and were treated to an amazing display, them swimming very close to the boat at the surface so we could clearly see all their pectoral fins! A couple of high tail dives then we headed in.
Afternoon tour was totally off script. We hadnt even left the harbour before we saw a humpback and that was swiftly follwed by 2 minkes! One of them even did a lazy breach right next to the boat! We also found the same pod of porpoises again so with all this life in between the islands we didnt head out to sea, and instead had very calm water and amazing wildlife between the islands.
