Whale Watching Daily Diary – October 25th 2025
The days in Iceland are getting shorter, but thanks to that, we set sail accompanied by the beautiful pink and orange colours of the rising sun. This morning was cold, but that didn’t stop us from collecting unforgettable memories.
It was one of those days when we had barely finished discussing safety on the boat, and the whales were waiting for us outside the harbour walls! Once again, two gentle humpbacks that we have been encountering for several days between the islands. They surfaced every now and then, at times just a few metres from our boat, delighting us all. A little further east of Viðey, we also encountered a lone minke whale – we spent a few moments with it, and then it disappeared for good. We ended both of today’s tours with another encounter with two humpbacks, which apparently have settled in our harbour for good!
