Whale Watching Daily Diary – October 29th 2025

Such a beautiful morning with clear blue skies, and snow laying thickly everywhere but not falling, and no wind. The sun is rising later now so the mountains still had a pink tint on their snow. Absolute heaven. We set out with calm seas on Amelia Rose at 9.15 to start looking for the whales.

We set off to into the deep water to the main feeding ground, but after looking there for sometime we didn´t find anything, so we decided to go back and check around the islands. Success! We found minke whales and humpback whales which was just wonderful, especially seeing them with the snowy mountains as a back drop.

In the afternoon we headed straight back to the area we found the humpbacks in the morning, and were once again amazed by their beauty, grace, and absolutely massive size! They came close to the ship so everyone got amazing photos. Such an incredible -though very cold – day!
