Whale Watching Daily Diary –13th June 2026
Morning Tour
After several days of challenging conditions, Faxaflói Bay greeted us with much calmer seas this morning. A gentle breeze, excellent visibility, and bright sunshine made for a beautiful day on the water, with the sun sparkling across the bay.
The whales were certainly making the most of the favourable conditions. Throughout the tour, we encountered an impressive total of five humpback whales in different areas of the bay. Some appeared to be younger individuals, while others were fully grown adults, giving us a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the variety within this magnificent species. Watching these giants surface peacefully in the calm waters was a fantastic start to the day.
Afternoon Tour
The pleasant weather continued into the afternoon, with calm seas and clear views allowing us to scan the bay with ease.
Our wildlife encounters began with two beautiful humpback whales, both showing well and delighting everyone on board with several close surfacings. As if that wasn’t enough, we were also joined by a friendly pod of white-beaked dolphins. The dolphins travelled alongside us for a while, surfacing and bringing plenty of smiles to those watching from the deck.
A truly enjoyable day in Faxaflói Bay, filled with sunshine, calm seas, and wonderful encounters with both whales and dolphins.
