Whale Watching Daily Diary – 26th June 2026
Morning Tour
Today on Faxafloi, the weather was favourable but we did experience some cold winds. We set sails straight to the open bay, and just after 40 minutes, we spotted our first marine mammals – humpbacks! Two in total but they were swimming alone, a few hundered meteres apart. Very relaxed, swimming slowly and surfacing regularly. We also got lucky to see two minke whales on our way back!
Afternoon Tour
Just like yesterday, the wind picked up in the afternoon – making a more adventurous trip! At first it was challenging to spot anything due to big waves. Luckily, we got into the area with dozens of diving gannets… this is were we spotted our first minke whale of the tour. Later, just within minutes, we spotted two huge blows in the distance – beautiful humpbacks swimming close to each other! Despite rough seas, we managed to see their beautiful flukes. Waiting definitely paid off!
