Whale Watching Daily Diary –6th June 2026
Morning Tour
This morning in Faxaflói, we enjoyed calm sea conditions with alternating weather, ranging from sunshine to light rain showers.
Wildlife activity was excellent throughout the trip. We encountered four different humpback whales, all swimming independently rather than traveling together.
Remarkably, all four individuals were observed within an area of approximately one square kilometer.
The combination of peaceful seas and frequent whale sightings made for a memorable morning on the bay!
Afternoon Tour
During the afternoon tour, whale activity was quieter than in the morning. The humpback whales we had encountered earlier had moved farther offshore, and we located one individual further out in the bay. This whale treated us to some spectacular surface activity, breaching several times and repeatedly tail-slapping. These energetic displays provided a fantastic end to the day’s whale watching in Faxaflói!
