Daily diary – January 2 2025

Although the clouds had come over today, we were enjoying the warmer weather with little patches of clear sky. We headed out into the bay and soon enough there were 2 humpback whales feeding between Engey and Videy! One of the individuals looked like it had only came into the bay today! We watched them feeding for a while as they were surfacing very regularly. We also had a few harbour seals come up really close to the boat! We left the whales for a short time and revisited them after 30 minutes! When we came back there was so much bird activity as well, and we even spotted a white-tailed eagle in the mix! What a brilliant tour!!
