Another sunny day here in Reykjavik. Conditions are currently perfect for whale watching for the week ahead.
This morning we were lucky enough to observe a Humpback Whale for almost an hour. She stayed underwater to feed for 5 to 10 minutes, then returned to the surface. First we observed the blow, usually 3 breaths, then she dived. As she dived, you could see her back bend and then her tail (called the fluke).
The afternoon was less successful as we observed a very shy and elusive Minke Whale. However, we can’t control the animals.
