Daily diary – June 14 2024

June 14 was a fantastic, memorable day. Throughout the day we saw a gathering of dozens of Minke Whales behaving very calmly at the surface. They must have been feeding on the Sandeels at the surface, so it was very easy to observe them. It was great to hear the sound of their breathing and observe them very close to the boat. Many dolphins also swam around the boat, being very social and enjoying their presence.
Another surprise was the Harbor Porpoise: normally solitary and shy by nature, today the opposite was true, with a group of around a hundred swimming around the boat. A pleasure to see these marine mammals, often difficult to observe.
