Daily Diary – June 19th 2023

Whale watching tour on Amelia Rose on 19th June 2023.

It was such an incredible day on the water today, we had between 20 – 30 humpback whales in the area, and a huge pod of dolphins jumping all around us.

The water was eerily calm, blending into the sky in the distance, giving everything an ethereal feel. Despite the cloud, we only had a few drops of rain, but we would have been happy even if there was a huge thunderstorm because the animals were so amazing.

Normally we have to point out to customers where to look, but today it was just a case of looking at a piece of ocean and knowing something will appear in it!

We also saw minke whales, more puffins than we could possibly count, and heaps of other gulls and terns.
