Daily diary – June 20 2024

For the past few days, it’s been incredible in every way!

This morning, in addition to numerous dolphins, we had 4 Humpback whales eating in roughly the same spot. As well as an impressive number of birds. There must have been a large school of Sandeels, given all the birds and cetaceans hunting in the area. Amidst all the ruckus, numerous Minke whales surfaced.

On the afternoon outing, a Humpback whale was going absolutely crazy, breaching, tails slapping and flippers slapping. We also saw, for the first time, a dolphin imitating the humpback whale and also doing a tail slap! Rather unusual, but incredible to see.

It looks like the next few days are going to be amazing!
