Daily diary – March 23 2025

The surface of the ocean looked totally flat and calm when we started our journey to find whales this morning but soon after we went out it started to change and the ocean was little rough. We found a couple of minke whale maybe 3 or 4 of them. Two of the minke whale showed themselves quite well and even once we saw two of them at the same time. We also found a small group of dolphins.
In the afternoon, the waves were still quite choppy and the wind was very chilly. But we headed out into the bay. Once we got past Grotta, the lighthouse, we found a pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. There were lots of birds above them so they must have been feeding! We spent some time enjoying them as they surfed the waves. We headed a little bit further out and came across a pod of 2 harbour porpoises and then a much bigger one of 6. Just before we headed back we came across 5 more white-beaked dolphins which were a little bit more relaxed then the first.
