Daily diary – November 28 2024
Although we had northerly winds today, we had blue skies with both a beautiful sunrise and sunset. On our morning tour, we set out and headed to the islands, where we found. not one, but two humpback whales. They were both feeding and acting erratically, diving everywhere but only for short periods. We even got a quick tailslap as one went to dive. We also saw some harbour porpoises and seals around the boat too. One of the humpback whales surprised us right under the bow before we left, and even though the wind was freezing, everyone enjoyed the beautiful moment.
The afternoon was really beautiful, the water around the islands was much calmer and we had the sun up during the whole tour. The two humpback whales were still where we left them. We spent some time with both of them as they continued feeding. Again, one of them swam right next to the boat, several times, giving us a beautiful moment to enjoy their presence.
