Daily diary – October 22 2024
The beautiful sunny skies led us to find a blow from a humpback whale. It was taking long dives so we carried on to find 4 more humpback whales!!! They were swimming all together! It was such an incredible sight to see and such a rare encounter! We spent some time enjoying their company and then headed off to find 2 minke whales! One of them swam right next to the boat and we could see its white banding on the pectoral fins!
On our way back out for the afternoon tour, we came across a minke whale! It was swimming very fast so we only got to see it a few times! We continued on and found the 4 humpback whales from this morning, still swimming altogether. They were swimming very calmly and we were able to enjoy watching them. Just as we were about to leave, one of them breached twice!! They then started chin slapping, pectoral slapping, rolling and peduncle throwing!! It was amazing! What a way to end the tour!
