Whale Watching Daily Diary –19th June 2026
Morning Tour
It was a beautiful sunny morning, although it was quite windy out on the water. During the tour, we saw a total of six humpback whales, which made an unforgettable wildlife experience. At one point, three humpbacks were swimming very close to each other, and we didn’t know where to look, as whales appeared from different sides of our boat. Several times one humpback approached our boat from the front and dived just beneath the bow, giving us a spectacular close-up view. Seeing these large animals this close is always an amazing experience.
Afternoon Tour
During the afternoon tour, the waters of Faxafloi Bay welcomed us again with a true humpback party! We spotted five of them, not very far from each other. We can observe lately that many of them choose to stay with friends around. Even though humpbacks stole the show today, we were lucky to see a lively pod of white-beaked dolphins, adding energy and joy to the scene. As we started heading back to the harbour, a minke whale surfaced quietly for a brief moment, moving quickly, before disappearing into the blue.
