Whale Watching Daily Diary – May 10th 2026

Morning tour:

From 9 AM to noon, we explored the calm waters of Faxaflói under rain and light fog.
The mysterious atmosphere made the tour feel even more special.
First, we saw a playful group of white-beaked dolphins swimming near the boat.
Later, a friendly humpback whale appeared and stayed close to us for several minutes.
Despite the weather, it was an unforgettable experience.

Afternoon tour:

In the afternoon, we returned to the waters of Faxaflói and spotted a shy minke whale that appeared only once before disappearing into the sea.
About twenty minutes later, a group of white-beaked dolphins joined us, swimming under and around the boat for quite a while.
The most exciting moment came when a humpback whale suddenly breached twice, leaping completely out of the water.
On the way back, we were also able to see two more minke whales much more clearly as they came surprisingly close to the boat.
The tour felt full of surprises and unforgettable wildlife encounters from beginning to end.
