Whale Watching Daily Diary – May 29th 2026

Morning Tour

This morning we headed out into Faxaflói under difficult conditions, with rain, strong winds, large waves, and choppy seas making whale watching especially challenging. Despite carefully searching several areas where whales had recently been spotted, we unfortunately did not encounter any cetaceans during the tour.

Puffins and other seabirds accompanied us along the way, adding some life to the grey morning at sea. As whale watching takes place in the wild and sightings can never be guaranteed, all passengers were offered complimentary tickets, valid for another tour within the next three years.

Afternoon Tour

Conditions remained rough during the afternoon tour, with persistent drizzle and heavy swells throughout the bay. Our crew searched multiple areas in hopes of finding whale activity, but unfortunately no whales were seen this time either.

Even without sightings, our passengers experienced the powerful and unpredictable nature of the Icelandic ocean. Complimentary tickets were offered to all guests, giving them another chance to join us again within the next three years.
