October in Iceland is a beautiful month. The nights are dark enough to see the Northern Lights when they shine, but there is still enough daylight to get out in the gorgeous countryside. As a plus it’s much cheaper than the height of summer or over Christmas.

August in Iceland is the last month of summer. It’s one of the most popular times to visit, with all the summer festivities in full swing. The days are long and warm, but we do have night time towards the end of it, and sometimes get great Northern Lights displays! The puffins are still here too! So in this awesome month you can go puffin watching and Northern Lights watching in the same day!
What a day! We found 3 beautiful minke whales, and so many guillemots, gulls, cormorants and kittiwakes, more surprising than that was a pair of puffins out on the water!
July in Iceland is the height of summer. Most Icelanders would say it is their favourite month, with endless days full of festivals, hiking, roadtrips, and camping. It is a truly stunning time of year in Iceland.
June in Iceland is devastatingly gorgeous. Summer is definitely here, as are the whales, the puffins, and the midnight sun. There is a reason everyone wants to come to Iceland in June!
April is one of the cheapest months to visit Iceland, yet it has the best of summer and winter! We still have enough night time to see the Northern Lights but the Puffins start arriving!
May in Iceland is a beautiful time of year, fresh greenery is ever where and the days are much more likely to be sunny than in April. It’s not as busy as the following months but there’s still definitely warmth in the sun!
With our small population and mountainous terrain we don’t have a huge about of roads in Iceland, but the ones we do have are epic. Sweeping landscapes, tunnels through mountains, and glorious waterfalls litter the country, and one of the best ways to see them is on the iconic Route 1, Iceland’s ring road.
